Solar graph

The solar graph is a representation of the Sun trajectory in the sky during a year, in function of its azimuth and altitude. It make it possible, by drawing obstacles on the horizon, such as a building or a tree, to predict if the Sun might be hidden behind one of these obstacles.

The graph drawn here is in polar coordinates with azimuths on the circle and altitude on the radius. The apparent trajectory of the Sun is drawn for every zodiac changes as on a sundial. It is also possible to draw it for given declination values or dates.
